About

I am a senior Computer Science student at the University of Utah, pursuing a B.S. with an emphasis on Game Development. I have developed two small games, one of which is Event Horizon, and am currently working on another game—Synthbiotic Dungeon.

Through Event Horizon, I have gained experience as a gameplay programmer, programming different playable characters (two unique abilities each), Main Menu and Character Select screens, usable items, scripted events, and basic enemy AI.

As the main AI programmer on Synthbiotic Dungeon, I have gained lots of experience designing and programming enemies utilizing state machines and behavior trees. For this game, I am developing a scalable, class based state machine that uses different behavior trees to execute specific enemy behavior, allowing us to reuse States and avoid cluttered switch-statements.

Over the last year, I have developed a passion for AI design and programming, one comparable to my love of gameplay programming. In the future, I hope to work on games that have both gameplay and AI as equal core pillars.
